What is Storebox?

Storebox is the first completely digital self-storage solution in Europe. You can secure and comfortably store your precious possessions in the individual units in sizes from 1 to 30 sq. mtrs. at our locations in Vienna, Austria. Thanks to the innovative access system, you can access the location and your unit by default 24/7*. The modern sensor system will monitor the temperature and humidity of your unit around the clock. Our inexpensive insurance provides comprehensive protection. With it you do not need to worry about storing even sensitive objects with us. How and when can I rent a unit?

You can book a compartment on our website at any time and start storing immediately after booking. Select the desired location and decide on the compartment which suits you best. You have the option to choose between different terms and service packages. In the end, you can select your payment method and confirm your booking.

After the successfull booking, you can add supplements, such as storage boxes or heavy duty shelves and control them via your customer account at any time.

What cannot be stored at Storebox?

The following goods and materials may not be stored in the units:

  • food or perishable goods (unless they have been packaged properly to protect them against attack by pests and so they don´t attract pests).
  • clothing (in particular fur coats) unless such have been securely (airtight) packaged 
  • living beings of any type (animals, plants, mushrooms, whether dead or alive)
  • combustible or flammable materials and liquids (such as gasoline or diesel fuel, natural gas, solvents, oils, paint and similar materials)
  • compressed gasses
  • weapons, ammunition and explosives
  • radioactive materials, biological or chemical substances
  • toxic waste, asbestos or other potentially hazardous materials or substances
  • any materials that might produce smoke or odors
  • any type of prohibited substances and objects or illegally acquired objects
  • materials that could impair others due to their emissions

Please note:
If any infringements result in the proliferation of pests as a consequence, the expenses of pest control by experts will be invoiced.

How large are the units?

The size of the units will vary depending on the location. The smallest units are roughly 1 m² and the largest may be 30 m². In detail, you can find an overview of the sizes in m² and the volume online at each location.

How do I pay the rent?

The rent will be due on the 28th of each month. You may make payment using credit cards, the SEPA direct debit process, PayPal or pay upon invoice.

Deposit levying

The amount of the deposit depends on the size of the compartment and has to be paid with the initial invoice. The deposit amount is calculated from the gross monthly fee + 20 €.

Return of deposit

The deposit will be returned to you within 15 working days from the end of the contract, that is usually the 28th of each month, back to the bank account you have disclosed. It is assumed that the storage compartment has to be cleared and left clean.

What is the minimum term for a unit?

The minimum term is one month.

What is the notification period for termination?

The contract may be terminated on the 28th of any month after the expiration of the chosen contract term with a notification period of 2 weeks. If the rental contract is not terminated according to the notification period before the end of the contract, the contract term will extend automatically to the contract term for the selected package. If you would like to terminate a rental contract with a minimum term before the expiration of the minimum term, you have to pay the agreed full amount of compensation for the remaining months until the expiration of the minimum term. Notification of termination must be in writing, best by mail to service@storebox.at (for Austria) and service@storebox.de (for Germany).

Are my possessions insured?

Yes, your goods are covered by an insurance policy of VAV Versicherungs-Aktiengesellschaft up to EUR 10,000. Depending on the scope of coverage and the selected service package, the costs are at least EUR 4.90 per month.

The VAV is part of the VHV group. The corporate headquarters are located in Hannover. In Germany, the individual companies operate under the VHV Versicherungen and Hannoversche. In Austria under the brand VAV Versicherungen.

How do I enter the Storebox location?

Once your booking has been confirmed, you will receive a four-digit access code for the main entry via email/SMS. You can also find it on the confirmation page. To enter the Storebox location, enter the four-digit code and press the #-sign using the terminal at the main door. The door will unlock. You will also find the combination for the padlock at your unit on the confirmation page or in the confirmation email/SMS.

When leaving the Storebox, simply use the door opener on the wall next to the entry door and it will unlock. Close the door and it will automatically be locked again.

Can I also arrange a moving services through Storebox?

Yes, there is our popular Storebox transport service. Just send us a request by filling in this form and we will get back to you soon.

Can I check the temperature and humidity in my unit?

Yes, our smart sensor monitoring allows you to easily and digitally monitor temperature and humidity in real time.

How can I get the most out of my unit?

To make the best use of your space, we offer stable heavy-duty shelves and practical storage boxes. Simply, select the number of heavy-duty shelves and/or boxes directly on the confirmation page after your booking and enjoy the luxury of having more space. Alternatively, you can add heavy-duty shelves and storage boxes directly in your customer account for each booking.

What are the opening hours?

Our Storebox shops can be accessed at any time from Monday through Sunday, midnight to midnight, 24/7 by default*. Please note that during legal rest period from 10 PM to 6 AM you must keep the level of noise to a minimum.

Do I have to pay for calling at Storebox?

In order to serve our customers in the best possible way, we use a free service number for your telephone requests. Calls from national networks in Austria, Germany and Switzerland are free of charge. It is important to use the respective country-specific code and number. In Austria reach us free of charge on +43 800 3666446, in Germany on +49 800 3666446 and in Switzerland on +41 80036644. Since our numbers are service numbers, calls from abroad may incur costs, depending on your phone provider.
